Senior R&D Design Engineer – Grand Prairie, TX We’re looking for a Senior R&D Design Engineer with expertise in circuit breaker design, switchgear engineering, and power distribution systems to join our innovation team. This is a hybrid position requiring an in‑office presence typically 2-3 days a week.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience with circuit protection product engineering, product manufacturability and engineering changes.

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience designing power distribution equipment, switch devices, switchgear, or circuit breakers.

Proficient in the use of:

Pro/Engineer (Creo)

Minitab

SAP

Project Management Tools

Siemens Teamcenter

Good problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.

Knowledge in design thinking, artificial intelligence (AI), and Agile methodologies to drive innovative solutions.

Additive manufacturing knowledge.

Product launch tools experience (PPAP, FMEA, etc.) is a plus.

Design Development:

Create ideas and refine designs for power circuit protection devices, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Technical Analysis:

Conduct simulations and analyses to evaluate design feasibility and performance using software tools such as Creo, Teamcenter, and electrical simulation programs.

Prototyping and Testing:

Direct prototyping and testing phases, analyzing results to validate designs and make necessary adjustments.

Documentation:

Prepare detailed documentation of design processes, test results, and project reports to support compliance and future development efforts.

Collaboration:

Work closely with international cross‑functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.

Innovative Solutions:

Implement innovative design approaches and technologies to enhance product functionality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Sub‑Project Management:

Lead project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful completion of design initiatives.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and project updates for stakeholders.

The pay range for this position is $92,320 – $158,263 annually. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
