Hematology / Medical Oncology Physician (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Hematology / Medical Oncology Physician provides comprehensive care for patients with benign and malignant hematologic disorders and solid tumors. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients undergoing cancer therapy, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, patient-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with hematologic disorders and oncologic diseases
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care
Provide outpatient clinic care and inpatient consultative services as required
Monitor patient response to therapy and manage treatment-related side effects and complications
Order, interpret, and review laboratory studies, imaging, and pathology reports
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and palliative care
Participate in tumor boards, care coordination meetings, and quality initiatives
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and supportive care services
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic health record
Participate in call coverage and after-hours responsibilities as applicable
Adhere to clinical guidelines, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
Completion of an accredited Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship
Board eligible or board certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology
Active or eligible state medical license
DEA registration or eligibility

Broad clinical expertise in hematologic and oncologic conditions
Strong clinical judgment and treatment decision-making skills
Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment

Work Environment
Outpatient oncology clinic with inpatient consult responsibilities
Schedule and call coverage vary by practice model and patient volume
Certifications & Licensure
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology
Active state medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure

Competitive
base salary
with RVU-based incentive compensation
