Summary:
Fountain City Family Physicians, a division of Summit Medical Group, has an immediate opening for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) to join the practice to assist with clinical tasks.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare patients for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences.
Record vital signs of patients, including pulse, blood pressure, height, etc.
Perform appropriate procedures, such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors, etc.
Assist the physician(s) with procedures, as well as administering medications and conducting patient educations.
Handle phone nursing when appropriate, to include triaging, pre‑certs, referrals, calling in prescriptions, etc.
Perform clerical duties necessary for the physicians to see patients; contact patients regarding test results or other related reasons as directed.
If needed, schedule patient appointments with efficient use of clinical time slots.
Maintain stocked, neat and clean exam rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited program in practical nursing or medical assisting.
Licenses & Certifications:
Current TN license in Practical Nursing or Nationally Certified in Medical Assisting, or Emergency Medical Technician license required.
Experience:
Prefer one year experience in a medical office setting.
