Emergency Medicine Physician Job Details
Location:
New Ulm, MN – Southern Minnesota
Practice Setting:
Hospital/Medical Center – Single Coverage Emergency Room
Contract Length:
Ongoing locum tenens contract, starting March 9, 2026 (MN license required)
Shifts:
12‑hour shifts (07:00–19:00 or 19:00–07:00), mix of days and nights
Shifts per Month:
6–8 shifts per month
Hospital Bed Size:
11
Patient Census:
15–25 patients per shift, all ages
EMR:
EPIC
Qualifications
Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (preferred), or Family Practice with significant emergency department experience
Active Minnesota medical license
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in emergency medicine, preferably at community hospital sites
DEA registration
Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS or CALS
Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
Strong preference for candidates with experience in Minnesota or neighboring states
Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a single coverage ER
Efficiently manage a busy patient load with seasonal fluctuations
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RT, Psych, Teleintensivist, Ortho, Gen Surg, OB/GYN, CRNA, and mid‑level providers
Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation and patient management
Participate in hospital orientation and credentialing processes
