Electrical Engineer Location:

Houston, TX Type:

Full-time | Onsite Level:

5+ years’ experience

We’re supporting a rapidly growing technology company operating at the intersection of space systems, advanced energy storage, grid technology, and defense applications.

The team is building high‑reliability electronic and power systems that must perform flawlessly in mission‑critical environments - and they’re looking for an Electrical Engineer who is comfortable owning hardware from concept through to flight‑ and field‑ready systems.

This is a hands‑on engineering role. You will design, prototype, test, debug, iterate, refine and ultimately help deliver the next generation of power electronics, battery systems and control hardware.

Responsibilities Lead electrical design of PCB assemblies, power electronics, control boards and embedded hardware Build, test and debug your own prototypes using in‑house tools, instrumentation and development equipment Develop schematics, layouts and hardware architectures for energy storage, power distribution and high‑reliability electronics Execute board‑level and system‑level testing (functional, thermal, electrical, EMI/EMC, reliability) and feed results back into rapid design iteration Develop electrical architectures for battery modules, power systems, sensing interfaces and safety‑critical electronics Own the full engineering lifecycle: requirements → schematics → layout → prototype → validation → release Collaborate closely with mechanical, thermal, software and systems engineers to deliver integrated hardware Support qualification efforts for aerospace, defense and grid‑level applications Contribute to rapid development cycles where “test → iterate → test” is the standard approach

Requirements 5+ years electrical engineering experience in hardware product development Strong PCB design and layout capability (Altium, Cadence, OrCAD or similar) Proven hands‑on ability to prototype, assemble, instrument, and debug electronic hardware Experience with one or more: power electronics, battery systems, BMS, sensing/DAQ, embedded hardware, analog/digital design Ability to read schematics, design circuits, and troubleshoot down to component level Comfort working in fast development cycles with limited information and evolving requirements Understanding of high‑reliability hardware for space, defense, or mission‑critical energy systems Familiarity with electrical safety, testing standards, and DFM/DFT principles Commutable or local to Houston, TX
