We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer‑based systems. You will work closely with other engineers to create solutions that meet client needs.

Required Qualifications

Security clearance: current Secret‑level U.S. Government Security Clearance required; U.S. Citizenship required

9+ years of experience as a software engineer designing, developing, and deploying complex backend systems and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 7 years experience with a Master’s, or high school diploma with 13 years experience

Experience working in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1‑2 days per week at the Columbia, MD office

Required Technical Skills

Experience designing enterprise APIs

Experience with RESTful web services

Experience with microservices architecture

Experience with object‑oriented programming paradigms

Experience with the agile software lifecycle

Proven ability to learn quickly and work well independently and in a team setting

Experience with Linux operating system

Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, Nexus, Maven

Desired Technical Skills

Experience with cloud‑based technologies AWS and Azure

Experience with distributed databases NoSQL databases and full‑text search engines such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr

Proficiency in scripting

Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform

Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise
