VanderHouwen
Technical Project Manager
Our client is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead several complex, enterprise-scale technology initiatives. This role partners closely with engineering leaders, infrastructure teams, and an enterprise PMO to drive delivery while maintaining strong governance, communication, and change management practices. The ideal candidate is a confident coordinator who excels at translating technical work into structured, well‑executed project outcomes.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle delivery of multiple concurrent technical initiatives, from project initiation and planning through deployment and post‑implementation validation.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, dependency tracking, risk logs, and mitigation strategies across complex technical workstreams.
Serve as the primary coordination point between engineering teams, infrastructure groups, security stakeholders, vendors, and enterprise project governance partners.
Drive scope definition, milestone planning, and delivery sequencing to balance technical constraints with business priorities.
Facilitate change management and communication strategies to support user adoption, operational readiness, and organizational alignment.
Coordinate system testing, pilot activities, rollout plans, and cutover readiness with technical and functional teams.
Oversee vendor deliverables and ensure external partners meet contractual milestones, quality standards, and documentation expectations.
Support cost analysis, budget tracking, and financial forecasting related to technical project delivery.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and decision frameworks for all participating teams.
Provide regular project status reporting, executive‑level summaries, and escalation management as needed.
Ensure projects align with enterprise standards for security, compliance, documentation, and operational sustainability.
Lead lessons‑learned reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery practices.
Qualifications
Extensive experience managing complex technical or infrastructure‑focused projects within large, enterprise environments.
Strong foundation in core project management disciplines, including planning, risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communication.
Proven ability to partner effectively with engineers, architects, and technical leaders without serving as the hands‑on technical implementer.
Experience supporting initiatives involving application deployments, infrastructure modernization, network upgrades, security improvements, or enterprise platform integrations.
Demonstrated success managing multiple workstreams, vendors, and cross‑functional teams simultaneously.
Familiarity with change management practices, testing coordination, rollout planning, and post‑deployment validation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical progress into clear, executive‑ready updates.
Experience working within or alongside an enterprise PMO or formal governance structure.
Strong organizational skills with a proactive, detail‑oriented approach to delivery.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive accountability in complex environments.
