QA Data Analyst & Telemetry Specialist (Quality Analytics | Observability | Contract) Location: Mountainview, CA Onsite | Large Global Consumer Electronics & Technology Company Contract (W2 - Only) Long-term engagement | Enterprise-scale systems
We are a staffing and consulting firm supporting a leading global Consumer Electronics & Technology organization that builds large-scale, data-driven products used by millions worldwide. We are hiring a QA Data Analyst & Telemetry Specialist to strengthen product quality through data analysis, observability, and telemetry-driven insights. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role working closely with QA, Engineering, Product, and Data teams. What You’ll Be Doing
Data Analysis & Log Investigation:
Analyze logs, metrics, and telemetry across test, staging, and production environments. Identify quality risks, defect patterns, regressions, and system behavior trends. Support QA investigations and improve test coverage strategy with data-backed insights.
Instrumentation & Telemetry Partnership:
Partner with engineers to define what should be logged and measured. Validate telemetry quality to ensure meaningful quality signals are captured. Influence instrumentation decisions that improve observability and diagnostics.
Dashboards & Visualization:
Design and maintain dashboards for QA, Engineering, and Leadership. Visualize test results, coverage trends, performance indicators, and release health. Enable faster, data-driven release readiness decisions.
Reporting & Quality Storytelling:
Produce clear weekly summaries, defect trend reports, and quality scorecards. Combine metrics, visuals, and narrative to communicate quality status effectively. Translate technical data into insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
7–15 years of total professional experience
3–5+ years of recent cross-functional experience in large-scale environments
Strong hands-on data analysis experience (SQL required; Python/R preferred)
Experience building dashboards using tools such as: Tableau, Power BI, Grafana, Looker, Superset, Plotly
Hands-on experience with log analysis / observability tools: Splunk, Datadog, Kibana, ElasticSearch, Sumo Logic
Solid understanding of: QA lifecycle, release validation, production monitoring
Comfortable working with engineers on logging, telemetry, and instrumentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have (Highly Attractive)
Background in QA, SDET, test automation, or release engineering
Experience with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or event-driven logs
Exposure to CI/CD or continuous delivery environments
Participation in incident reviews or quality postmortems
Certifications in Data Analytics, SQL, Tableau, or Observability tools
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics / Applied Mathematics, or Electrical or Computer Engineering
