Job Summary
This position directs and oversees program development, operations, and delivery of assigned program area(s).
This position is part of the Y Social Impact Center, the social services branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of Y Social Impact Center is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. Y Social Impact Center’s programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems.

Hiring Range: $88,000 - $100,000/yr
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and support to existing programs and program leaders, establish new program activities and expand programs within the community in accordance with the Association and Branch strategic plans related to area of focus. Provides leadership, coordination and direction to YSIC Advocacy committee. Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise assigned staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Provide development and leadership. Provide leadership and support assigned areas, including on-call support to staff around de-escalation and crisis response/management as needed. Collaborates with other Program Directors when needed to provide support and leadership to the drop-in resource center for youth and young adults located in Auburn. Provide leadership and support for YSIC leadership with project management and additional support. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools and agencies related to programs. Develop, produce and distribute program information necessary to promote programs, in accordance with branch marketing plans. Compile program statistics and provide data and reports as required. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program(s). Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with YMCA, contract, accreditation, and all relevant regulations and other applicable standards. Ensure high quality programs through innovative program development evaluations and ongoing training of staff. Oversee multiple contracts and ensuring budgetary compliance. Secure and locate other funding streams including private and government. Other duties as assigned

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position and is expected to be on call, and potentially work evenings and weekends as needed.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Qualifications
21 years of age or older Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in psychology, social services, or related field. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered. 6+ years of professional or volunteer experience working with high risk, system involved (homeless, justice, behavioral health, foster care) youth and/or young adults or equivalent community-based or informal service to this youth/young adult population 3+ year leadership and supervisory experience of teams and staff, including program development, leadership development, contract management, and financial management. Experience with and knowledge of youth behavior management and child abuse prevention. Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite. Ability to visit sites and community organizations.
Preferred Education And Experience
Master’s degree in social work, social services, or a closely related field. Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Life experience with poverty, child welfare, homelessness, behavioral health, or youth violence and a desire to use that experience to improve the lives of others. Fluent in any language in addition to English
