Travel Requirement: Up to one week of domestic travel per year. Up to one week of international travel per year.
Job Responsibilities: The Manager of Statistical Science and Biomarkers is part of a team responsible for start-to-finish work on the analysis and interpretation of Olaris's metabolomics NMR/MS platforms. 1. Lead data analytics statistical projects and define future Company strategies to support the continuous development of our analytics platform using NMR and MS instruments; 2. Collaborate with the research scientists to carry out statistical analysis projects and synthesize these results into meaningful reports for clients and product development; 3. Collaborate with internal research teams and external partners in the full research process, including study design, analyses, presentations and publication; 4. Provide end-to-end statistical support and machine learning expertise in the development of Olaris products; 5. Communicate highly technical methods and results to non-technical audiences; 6. Troubleshoot with partners and internal stakeholders to refine and optimize statistical models; 7. Generate scientific communications to peer-reviewed journals and publications; 8. Develop algorithms to process clinical and metabolomic datasets, creating the analytic files necessary to support analyses; 9. Generate predictive models using both proprietary and off-the-shelf tools; and 10. Enable research team members to perform data analysis through the development of tools and apps, and consult in their use.
Job Requirements: Employer requires a PhD in statistics, machine learning or a closely related field, and one (1) year of work experience as a Data Scientist or in a closely related occupation leading data analytics projects by identifying the appropriate statistical analyses needed for a given project, performing these analyses and communicating the results to the investigator.
In addition, the employer requires the following:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of metabolomics data including nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy or mass spectrometry gained through one year of work experience; 2. Demonstrated knowledge of R programming and R shiny applications gained through at least one year of work experience; and 3. Demonstrated ability working with mass spectrometry instruments and the resulting data, including selecting the appropriate data processing and analysis methodologies, gained through at least one year of work experience.
