Overview: A Med Surg Float Pool RN (Registered Nurse) is a versatile nurse who works across various medical-surgical units within a hospital. Their key responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, adapting to different units and patient populations to fill in where needed.Conducting patient assessments, educating patients and their families about care plans and treatments, collaborating closely with different healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and effective patient care, and adhering to hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant care environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Medical-Surgical Units: Cardiopulmonary Renal General Medsurg Orthopedics Oncology Surgical Decision Unit ICU Stepdown
Qualifications: Education:
Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program. Licensure:
Current RN licensure with State Board of Nursing in the applicable state of practice or current temporary work permit in the applicable state of practice. Experience:
A minimum of one year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience is required. This experience having occurred within the past 24 months. Certification/Registration:
BLS Equipment Used:
Unit-Specific.Preferred Physical Requirements:
Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
