The following duties
ARE NOT
intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position‑specific duties.
Maintains and repairs all aspects of street, drainage, and alley maintenance, street signs, street striping, other roadway markings, and construction; performs line locates; responds to trouble calls on roads and equipment; patrols streets to identify and provide maintenance for traffic signals, signs, guardrails, barricades, and markings that need adjustment or repair.
Operates equipment, tools, and motor vehicles such as trucks, specialty vehicles, and other similar maintenance or construction equipment to conform with applicable regulatory standards and City standards.
Safely operates equipment and tools used at work site; places traffic control flags, signs, and cones to direct traffic around work sites, and operates and maintains hand and power tools.
On‑call for emergency situations
Responds tactfully to questions and comments from the public and delegates to appropriate staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED No direct supervision exercised.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in general construction, road maintenance, stormwater collection systems, or related field preferred.
Special Requirements
Ability to obtain a Class A CDL within one (1) year of hire.
