Job Description
Position Title Cook Aide/Driver – Status: Nonexempt
Reports To Director of Community Services
Position Summary Responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager to prepare and deliver meals for Meals on Wheels (MOW) clients and to clean the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
Responsibilities
Assist the Food Service Manager with preparing food.
Assist in stocking/replenishing food inventory.
Assist in daily cleaning/sanitation of equipment and work areas.
Deliver meals to client homes using the Agency’s vehicle.
Additional Responsibilities
Supports and understands the mission of the Partnership.
Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
Work Relationships and Scope Reports directly to the Community Services Team Leader. Regular interaction with co-workers and clients.
Measure of Performance Quality, accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and thoroughness of work performed; gains the trust and respect of the Community Services Team Leader and co‑workers. Communicates effectively (written and verbally); responsive to the requests and information needs of the clients and volunteers; commitment and loyalty to the Partnership; maintenance of confidential information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High school education or GED. Experience working in food service or food preparation environment helpful. Experience working with kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals. Cooking and delivery experience. Qualifications include good organization skills, dependable worker, team player, caring and service‑oriented attitude, resourceful, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Working Conditions Work is performed in a kitchen and at meal sites with moderate exposure to injury. This position requires sitting, standing, bending, and lifting. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required.
