Breakfast Shift: Monday through Friday 6:30 am – 10:30 am
Lunch Shift: Monday through Friday 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Dinner Shift: Sunday through Thursday 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Pay $17–$20 per hour
Cook breakfast, prepare salad bar, maintain cleanliness
Must be at least 18, must have reliable transportation, must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship
No certifications required (we’ll provide them)

SUMMARY OF POSITION : The Food Service Staff assists in the preparation of all meals, including setting up the breakfast and/or salad bars, and plating meal components. They also clean dishes, assist in cleaning the kitchen, and prepare the dining hall for each meal, in accordance with all ACA and Iowa Public Health safety requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in preparation of all meals.
Assists with preparation of special diet foods, taking measures to reduce the risk of cross‑contamination.
Ensures kitchen is in accordance with ACA and Iowa Health Department standards.
Maintains proper cleaning and storage of all dishes.
Cleans the kitchen bathroom.
Assists in properly putting away food deliveries, ensuring first‑in‑first‑out rotation of products, and maintaining organization.
Assists in opening and closing the kitchen during summer season.
Assists campers with the set up for each meal.
Assists in setting up and filling the breakfast and/or salad bar.
Participates in camp‑wide activities including campfire programs, flag ceremonies, workshops, and evening programs as available.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Member of GSUSA or willingness to become so.
Belief in the mission of GSUSA and GSGI.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of the kitchen and equipment needed for cooking.
Familiar with food preparation.
Essential Functions
Able to walk and stand for long periods of time on trails and walkways.
Able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, supplies, and products.
Able to work effectively with a wide diversity of staff, volunteers, and girl members.
Able to live in a space with others and eat meals in a large, noisy environment.
Working Conditions
The work week is generally Sunday‑Friday with some required Saturdays. Shifts will include up to two meals.
Work day is predicated by kitchen daily schedule.
Requested time‑off and schedule changes will be coordinated with the Camp Director.
Extreme weather and temperatures may be encountered daily.
This is an hourly position, not to exceed 40 hours per week without prior approval from the Camp Director.
