Perform tasks involving physical labor at building and heavy construction projects. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
General and final cleanup of project sites, project offices, surrounding areas, etc., removing hazards, materials, and debris. Distribute and cleanup of power & hand tools, extension cords, generators, etc. Dewatering activities and set up water pumps and hoses. Manual moving of formwork, lumber, steel, and materials for reinforcing. Place concrete to/from a truck, pump, bucket, buggy, conveyor, etc. Hand excavation and backfill, and hand grade sub-base. Load and unload equipment and materials from trucks and trailers. Concrete tasks: rake, screed concrete, vibrate, edge concrete, broom finish, and place concrete blankets. Use of demolition tools during various tasks: jackhammer, air tools, sledgehammer, cut-off saw, etc. Follow instructions and comprehend construction needs. Adheres to procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks. Regular attendance is required according to company policy to ensure the crew can operate at the normal efficiency level. Performs other duties of a similar or related nature as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities
Basic use and knowledge of operating common hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in construction. Able to work a flexible schedule with last‑minute schedule, location, time of shift change (day & night), and overtime work as needed. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Education and Experience
High School or equivalent (preferred). Minimum two (2) years’ field experience in the construction industry. Valid Driver’s License with clear MVR (preferred). Physical Requirements
Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions. Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements. Able to work in confined spaces. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis. Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, climb, and balance repeatedly or continually throughout shift. Regularly works in an outdoor environment near heavy equipment, power tools, and moving machinery in the surrounding area. Able to push/pull 80+ lbs. Able to lift/carry 80+ lbs. Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to steel‑toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
