Student - Student Assistant Provost Office

Overview
The Provost’s Office is hiring a student who is interested in employment throughout their academic career, during the academic year and possibly summers. This position offers an opportunity to better understand the inner workings of the College. Freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Greeting and directing visitors in the office
Regular email communication with faculty and students
Assist in planning faculty events, including Baden presentations, salons, and common hours
Planning and coordination of other special events, including but not limited to the annual Awards and Publications Event, Faculty Retirement Celebration, CoSA, and Commencement
Assisting with file creation and maintenance and organization
Preparing spreadsheets, sending notifications, and tracking Faculty Professional Development funding and grants
Collecting and organizing student honors projects
Website editing and maintenance, including promotion of events
Other duties include standard office procedures such as word processing, assembling spreadsheets, filing, photocopying, maintaining and organizing shared office spaces, and aiding the Provost’s Office support staff in a variety of functions
Requirements The ideal candidate will be able to dedicate approximately 10 hours of work per week (or more if schedule allows) during the academic year, with potential availability during the summer.
This position requires a high level of confidentiality working with important materials.
Preferred Qualifications A working knowledge Microsoft Office, Excel, Microsoft Outlook is desirable. Prior office experience is a plus, though training will continue to be provided as needed.
