About Us: Spek Diagnostics is an independent provider of anatomic pathology laboratory services based in the Boise area, with clientele throughout Idaho and surrounding states. We work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to process and interpret clinical specimens such as biopsies and surgical excisions and report these results back to the clinician in a timely manner to facilitate diagnosis and treatment of disease. Overview As a Courier with Spek Diagnostics, you play an important role in supporting our medical clients and internal operations. You'll run scheduled daily routes, serving as a professional point of contact with medical office staff while ensuring timely and reliable specimen transport.

This position is a hybrid role that combines driving routes with light office support. When not on the road, you'll assist with administrative tasks such as scanning and filing documents, opening and sorting mail, and processing desktop check deposits.

Spek Diagnostics provides the vehicle for all route duties.

Hours and Location This is a part‑time route based in Garden City. The schedule runs Monday through Thursday between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Daily hours may vary slightly depending on route activity and administrative workload.

Responsibilities

Provide timely, efficient, and safe pickup and delivery of specimens, supplies, and reports

Operate company vehicles, in various weather conditions, in a safe manner, while following all traffic laws and maintaining a good driving record

Maintain positive specimen identification and transport integrity at all times

Open and sort mail to the appropriate staff members

Scan important documents and upload to the customer system, which is very user friendly

Deposit checks using a mobile app

Requirements In order to succeed in this role, you will need:

Valid driver's license

An understanding of and ability to provide excellent customer service

Ability to use cellular phone for accepting and reporting route changes while en route

A motor vehicle record that meets department maximum acceptability standards regarding violations/accidents

A willingness to be flexible in job duties as described above on a day‑to‑day basis

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds to waist height and practice good body mechanics
