We are seeking a
Financial Analyst III
to join a dynamic trading floor team within the oil & gas commodities sector. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel expertise, and experience in risk analysis. Ideal candidates thrive in fast‑paced environments and have exposure to ETRM systems and commodity risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Generate and validate
daily P&L and exposure reports
across multiple commodities (crude oil, gasoline, distillates, fuel oil, renewables, NGLs).
Perform
P&L attribution and commentary , explaining market impacts and risk drivers.
Validate trades, deals, market curves, and pricing inputs for accuracy.
Collaborate with trading, scheduling, accounting, and risk teams to resolve discrepancies.
Drive
process improvements
through automation and standardization of reporting.
Support compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Provide backup coverage and mentor junior analysts.
Align mark‑to‑market P&L with GAAP standards for financial reporting.
Required Skills & Experience
Advanced Excel
(pivot tables, vLookup, hLookup).
Experience with
ETRM systems
(RightAngle, Allegro, Endur, OpenLink).
Strong analytical and numerical skills; risk analysis experience in oil & gas commodities.
Ability to thrive in a
fast‑paced trading environment .
Familiarity with Power BI; Python or SQL is a plus.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and explain complex concepts clearly.
