WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. The Housekeeping Supervisor will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department and ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. This role requires strong attention to detail, leadership abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Supervises housekeeping and laundry staff as duties are being performed.
Stocks and maintains supply rooms; assists with ordering supplies.
Receives, processes, and handles guest complaints regarding housekeeping services.
Ensures that rooms and common areas are kept clean and free from hazards.
Assists guests with questions and requests.
Provides a high level of customer service at all times; remains professional.
Trains new housekeepers after hire as required.
Note that this is not an inclusive list and team members are at times asked to assist with other tasks to best serve the business. Other tasks may be assigned by the Executive Housekeeping Manager or other managers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Inspectors, Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, Housepersons, and Public Area Attendants.
Job Requirements Education & Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in tourism, hospitality, or hotel management is a plus.
3+ years of experience in a housekeeping department
Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, methods, and operation of cleaning equipment.
Familiar with the industry’s best practices.
Skills & Abilities
Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
Ability to lead and train teams effectively in a proactive and positive manner.
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. Ability to work under pressure, be calm, organized, self‑motivated, and work well with others.
Ability to read, speak, and understand English and communicate with the team (using a translator app if necessary).
Working Conditions Equipment to Be Used
Computer and Phone Apps
Various cleaning tools including vacuums, mops, brooms, dusters, and chemicals.
Washer, dryer, and iron when necessary.
Physical & Mental Requirements
Maintain regular and punctual on‑site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Requires manual dexterity sufficient to handle equipment and tasks.
Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 35 pounds.
Ability to adapt to an ever‑changing and sometimes stressful work environment.
While primarily an indoor job, one must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions.
Will work throughout property with focus on guest rooms and guest public areas.

Located at 19 Vendue Range, Charleston, SC 29401, The Vendue is in the heart of Charleston’s French Quarter and Art District.
Steps away from Waterfront Park, Charleston City Market, and Rainbow Row, along with other historic attractions, shopping, and dining.
Hourly Pay
$17.00 per hour full‑time. Overtime will be paid at time and a half for any hours over 40 in a week.
Sign‑on bonus: $250 awarded after 3 months of employment and an additional $250 awarded after 6 months of employment.
