Mixologist - Calusso

to join our Pier Sixty‑Six Resort team!

Reporting to the outlet General Manager, you will support and provide excellent service at our new signature high‑end restaurant bar. This high‑volume requires a passion for mixology, personalized service, and guest engagement. The new hot spot in Fort Lauderdale will offer luxury products and service, in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Preparing all alcoholic or non‑alcoholic beverages for guests

Assessing bar customer needs and preferences and be able to make personalized recommendations

Stock and maintain bar area to resort and health department standards

Provide an exceptional and memorable guest experience

Participate in ongoing training for professional development

Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the bar

Set up bar according to Pier Sixty‑Six five‑star standards

Cut fruit and prepare garnishes as set by resort standards for service

Consistently keep the bar area organized and clean

Know all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishes

Participate in updated training for the bar and menu items

Be able to follow pouring procedures appropriately; all drink recipes must utilize a jigger for accurate measurement; no deviation from the recipes is allowed.

Notify Supervisors immediately of any product shortages or out‑of‑stock items

Have a working knowledge of draft beer systems and how to properly change a keg.

Answer questions on menu selections and drinks to servers and guests

Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recooking orders, and product availability

Record all transactions in the POS system accurately and in a timely fashion.

Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages

Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day

Complete closing duties, including restocking items to set par levels, turning off lights, etc.

Present physical and accurate checks to guests and fully process payments

Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean, professional, and well maintained.

Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to resort standards

Anticipate and address guests’ service needs

Speak with others using a clear and professional language.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

Thank guests with genuine appreciation

Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Able to assist Supervisors with inventory duties

Notify manager or supervisor in a timely manner with suspicious ID cards and/or intoxicated guests

Proper cash handling of banks

Timely transfer of checks for guests being moved to a different section

Adhere to departmental policies and procedures

Effectively communicate with peers, management, line, and front‑of‑the‑house employees

Practice effective listening: (seek to understand)

Perform related duties as required

Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property

Adhere to proper grooming, dress and uniform standards as set forth by Resort policy

Be courteous to all guests and coworkers

Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Employee Handbook

Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non‑alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes at their respective outlet.

Qualifications

Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual

Sommelier certification preferred

Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English

Must have effective communication skills

Ability to implement and uphold service standards

Ability to prioritize and organize work assignment

Ability to interact with all associates and guests of the resort

Ability to work well in stressful, high‑pressure situation

Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time

Passionate and has a knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers

Experience, Education, & Licensure

High School Diploma or GED recommend

Some College experience or Degree recommended

Must be TIPS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire

Must have a current Food Handlers card

Previous bartending experience in a professional setting is preferred
