Responsibilities:
Licensing and Regulatory
Coordinate and submit all initial and renewal state licensing applications for programs and locations.
Initiate, maintain, and manage licensing and renewal files, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Verify application information and prepare required documentation for internal review and approval prior to submission.
Monitor licensing deadlines and ensure applications are submitted and processed within established timeframes.
Track application submissions and provide routine status updates to internal stakeholders.
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of licensed programs and locations.
Communicate pertinent changes, updates, and inquiries to and from state licensing and regulatory authorities.
Serve as a point of contact for department leaders and local behavioral health agencies regarding licensing requirements and application status.
Ensure compliance with state laws, regulatory standards, local behavioral health agency requirements, and internal policies throughout the licensing process.
Quality Assurance
Collaborate with compliance auditors and internal partners to support conformance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Monitor licensing-related documentation and compliance standards to identify potential risks or areas of vulnerability.
Assist in gathering, organizing, and validating data for audits, reviews, and compliance activities related to licensing operations.
Documentation and Reporting
Prepare and maintain accurate licensing records, reports, and supporting documentation.
Assist in the preparation of informational, statistical, and status reports related to licensing activities.
Enter audit and review results into databases or tracking tools, as directed.
Present or contribute to reports of findings for internal programs, committees, or subcommittees, including the Corporate Compliance Committee, as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public health, human services or related field is required.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
One to two years of experience working in healthcare, insurance, operations, or related field is required.
Prior experience in behavioral health and licensing is preferred. A demonstrated knowledge of:
Ability to interpret, analyze, and understand healthcare related regulations including Medicare and Medicaid program rules and regulations for hospital and outpatient services.
Knowledge of state and local regulations for Behavioral Health Authorities.
Ability to interpret, analyze, and apply knowledge of Code of Maryland Regulations.
Ability to interpret, analyze, and understand accreditation requirements.
