V2X is growing! We have an opportunity for a collaborative and highly skilled Database Administrator on the Combat Mission System Support (CMSS) team in Colorado Springs, CO. On CMSS, V2X provides support to L3Harris Technologies via subcontract in specific Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities. This position is part of a two-person, self-managed team that works directly with L3Harris to maintain the Enhanced Automated Graphics Logistics Element (EAGLE) Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS) and to constantly look for ways to improve the capabilities of the system and new ways to provide support to L3Harris as the mission evolves. Successful candidates will have experience applying standards, principles, theories, concepts, processes, and techniques to solve problems.
Regular duties will be performed in the L3Harris facility in Colorado Springs. Travel to/from the L3Harris facility is not paid for.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000
Duties include but are not limited to:
Direct interaction with prime contractor logistics team to manage taskings and provide solutions.
Continuous process improvement of database quality and operations by:
Understanding the customer environment, processes, and database operation
Communication with the customer logistics team, the V2X logistics engineer, and the EAGLE product support team to translate customer needs into actionable queries and updates to the database.
Original thought identifying gaps or quality issues and translating them into implementable actions/changes to work processes.
Applying and documenting unique and creative solutions
Quality assurance of the integrity of the data through:
Routine audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with company standards
Implementation of safeguards to protect sensitive data and uphold company security policies
Develop, administer, and maintain logistics databases, ensuring secure and optimized data storage
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement regular updates and patches
Monitor database comparison/corrections to baseline systems
Required Skills:
Proven experience in database administration, preferably in logistics or supply chain environments.
Experience with configuration, optimization, running and troubleshooting of a database residing on a Virtual Server through a CITRIX Client on a Remote Desktop environment.
Knowledge of how to “soft”/boot restart virtual servers
Proficiency with SQL
Proficiency with Oracle SQL Developer 19 servicing a large multi-table relational database
Ability to generate and write queries using 32-bit architecture.
Proficiency in optimization of the database to maintain operational efficiently
Proficiency in how to back up and restore a database; experience in executing a database roll back
Create and maintain detailed reports and dashboards to provide insights into logistics operations
Support stakeholders in using data to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements
Experience with problem-solving to create solutions to optimize customers’ time and efficiency tracking logistics data
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, especially proficiency with creating and troubleshooting Excel macros
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of specific industry regulations and compliance standards relative to the Department of Defense logistics management
Familiarity with GEIA-STD-0007 Logistics standard
Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), or enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
Experience with cloud-based databases or platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related DBA field.
At least 8 years in database administration, software development, relational database management and sustainment, or a related role, with a track record of successful support of data enhancement and accuracy to support warfighter decision making
