The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is an award‑winning, 5‑Diamond Certified service. We are looking for reliable, safety‑focused individuals to join our grounds maintenance team.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate in English.
Training and Experience:
Experience with chemical applications, pesticides, and landscape equipment; familiarity with calibration, application, and use of agricultural application equipment.
Job summary:
Proactively identify and chemically treat ornamental pests. Perform hand and machine work on property and operate grounds equipment.
Physical requirements:
Work outside in all weather; drive a motor vehicle; lift 50 lbs; operate hand‑carried sprayer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
Arrive on time and maintain proper uniform.
Follow personal hygiene and grooming standards.
Attend all required training, safety courses, and meetings.
Report safety hazards, ensure corrective action, and maintain a safe work environment.
Learn use of chemical application equipment and safety features (MSDS).
Gain specific knowledge of chemicals and their uses.
State of Florida Turf and Ornamental Spray License a plus.
Follow procedures for safe handling of chemicals.
Organize and maintain chemical and fertilizer storage rooms safely.
Maintain accurate chemical daily records.
Monitor property for problems and treat accordingly.
Identify, translate, and map pests and chemical applications.
Perform any other work as assigned by the Landscape Superintendent and/or Director of Horticulture.
