The role provides a unique opportunity for a Master’s‑degree candidate to work in two student‑facing departments at Villanova University, with 20 hours per week in exchange for tuition remission and a monthly stipend. The graduate assistant will work 10 hours in the CASA office (support to the Director for the Center for Access, Success, and Achievement and general administrative duties) and 10 hours with the Coordinator of the Service and Social Justice Experience Program in the office of Campus Ministry, assisting with program operations. Responsibilities

CASA

Assist in planning program activities and prepare weekly and periodic programming announcements. Assist in CASA data collection, assessments, and report preparation. Complete special projects such as compiling Standard Operating Procedures for staff. Assist the Associate Director of CASA as needed. Perform general administrative duties, maintain program files and official records, and assist in planning and attending events. Manage and distribute the CASA Newsletter and social media announcements. Maintain the database of CASA Alumni and facilitate contact about events via email and LinkedIn. Manage and participate in 1842 Day outreach, events, and trainings. Create flyers across the department. Supervise the CASA’s lending library and check books out/in. Attendance at occasional evening/wk‑end events may be required. Campus Ministry (Service and Justice Experience Program)

Administrative support for the Service and Justice Experience Program, including clearances and paperwork as required by the Compliance Officer and partners. Raise program awareness by connecting with students on campus and curating intentional social media content. Prepare site‑specific research on each program site and develop leadership and participant training materials; co‑lead leader and participant meetings and events. Willingness to attend Service and Justice Experiences in a leadership capacity as needed. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

Fully accepted into a Master’s degree program at Villanova University. Full‑time student carrying 9 graduate credit hours per semester (reduced load in final semester may be approved by the Graduate Dean). Available to work 10 hours each week during fall and spring semesters, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. Additional Requirements

Self‑motivated and able to complete tasks independently. Strong administrative skills with experience in social media platforms. Attention to detail and ability to manage logistics. Experience with community engagement. Ability to create documents and resources in a clear, readable format. Passion for social justice work and knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching. Desire to share and reflect with students on applying faith to social justice issues. Flexibility and ability to pivot under pressure or unexpected changes. Familiarity with Canva, Google Forms, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Writing experience (blogging, periodical writing, newsletters). Experience with newsletter creation and distribution. Scheduling Requirements

Attend CASA Unitas Pre‑Orientation program (second week of July), training in August and January, all staff retreats, and additional staff development meetings. Participate in key SJE related events and core team meetings, training retreats, commissioning services, and leadership interviews. Maintain flexibility in schedule; tasks may shift week‑to‑week based on program timelines. Additional Information

Graduate assistants work approximately 20 hours per week. Expected to participate in staff retreats and on‑/off‑campus professional development activities. Work begins the first day of training for the Fall Semester and continues through the week of final examinations. Receive a biweekly stipend and a full tuition waiver for 9‑12 graduate credit hours (paid August–May). Assistantships assigned for two semesters, renewable for an additional two semesters upon evaluation. No assistantships during the summer semester; no summer classes will be paid. Fees (e.g., activities, student life, health services, parking, late) remain the responsibility of the assistant. Stipend prorated if appointment made after semester start, if the assistant resigns, is dismissed, or is unable to work the required hours. All assistantships end with the close of university operations for the spring semester each year. Physical Demands Summary
