JOB SUMMARY: Under immediate supervision, maintains and cleans assigned buildings, parking lots, and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of assigned facilities. Performs other related and non-related tasks as required or assigned by supervisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collection and removal of trash and replacement of trash bags in receptacles

Sweeping and mopping of floors, vacuuming of carpeted areas

Dusting and cleaning of furniture and all areas of the building

Cleaning and washing of windows and mirrors.

Stripping and waxing of floors, operation of buffing and scrubbing equipment

Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, shower areas, and gym equipment (where required)

Restocks consumable supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.)

Setup and breakdown, and storage of tables and chairs

Stands, walks, twists, stoops, and reaches for extended periods of time on duty.

Occasionally works evenings, weekends, and/or Holidays.

Reports equipment and facility repairs in writing to the supervisor.

Oversees equipment and facility repairs.

Changes light bulbs and air conditioning filters as needed (or scheduled).

Will work scheduled work week, which includes multiple days and varying schedules; will work several partial days during the week.

Will operate a city vehicle from park to park and other parks and recreation facilities as scheduled by supervisor.

Operates standard cleaning supplies and equipment, reports all equipment malfunctions to supervisor.

Cleans all areas of city buildings and fixtures, including restrooms.

Maintains and uses cleaning equipment as needed, as assigned or required.

Reports to supervisor vandalism, needed repairs, or safety concerns without delay.

Picks up trash from buildings, sidewalks, and building grounds; Cleans, washes, and maintains parking lots.

Empties trash cans and places trash in the dumpster.

Reads and understands verbal and/or written instructions.

Takes inventory and monitors status of supplies.

Operates various equipment and hand tools for minor maintenance projects.

Uses good judgment to work safely and use equipment properly.

Responsible for the efficient and safe operations, care, and appearance of assigned equipment to include washing, checks, and servicing of equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License (must obtain Texas Driver’s license within 30 days of hire per state law).

Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of various types of cleaning chemicals, floor finishes and their application

Ability to read and understand verbal and/or written job instructions and warning labels.

Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with City officials, co-workers and the general public.
