HEALTH RECORD TECHNICIAN
FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
Duties/Responsibilities
Process an average of 115 documents per day with 99% accuracy.
Scan medical and dental patient records, ensuring they are maintained in databases for SCHC centers.
Prioritize and immediately scan records requiring urgent attention.
Adhere to strict HIPAA guidelines to maintain confidentiality.
Monitor and manage the Medical Records Bucket.
Sort, scan, and assign incoming mail efficiently.
Address discrepancies or issues with records and take corrective action as needed.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support the centers.
Required Skills/Abilities
Proficient in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Strong organizational skills to manage and classify large volumes of patient records accurately.
Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure the completeness and accuracy of documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, patients, and staff.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
Effective multitasking, time management, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
Adaptability to new technologies, software, and changing healthcare regulations.
Ability to use office equipment, including computers, copy machines, fax machines, telephones, calculators, and more.
Proficiency in typing and data entry for efficient record updates.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to travel to various center locations as required.
