Organization Pearl Harbor Pay Range: Starting Min: $22.98 + based on experience

Job Summary Performs various duties in connection with loading, unloading, and verifying of merchandise in an Exchange store storeroom and/or location; or moving, stacking, layaway merchandise in assigned locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Loads and unloads merchandise; examines for damage or shortages.

Verifies type and quantity of merchandise received against documentation.

Brings discrepancies to supervisor’s attention.

Assists in assembly and loading of merchandise based on requests.

Unpacks, segregates and stocks counters and/or shelves with merchandise in accordance with established instructions.

May price stamp merchandise.

Assists in the conduct of periodic inventories by counting stock items remaining on shelves and keeping storage and sales area clean and orderly.

Moves designated layaway merchandise from retail store to the designated warehouse area and stacks such merchandise per procedure.

Returns merchandise to store as required and ensures proper documentation; forwards copies to appropriate departments.

May operate a price tag machine, unload boxes and packages, and pull merchandise from stock or shelves.

Assists customers in locating merchandise and answering general questions; may operate a cash register occasionally.

Works under general supervision of a designated supervisor, following instructions with little review.

Completes work as checked for accuracy; performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Effort & Working Conditions Stands, walks, and handles merchandise up to 50 pounds with assistance. Works primarily indoors; exposed to drafts, heat, controlled temperatures, climates, weather conditions, noise, and dust. May have to stand for long periods.

Training Requirement Associate must receive Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.

Qualifications Six months experience performing various duties in connection with loading, unloading, and verifying merchandise. Physical ability to stand, walk, and handle merchandise up to 50 pounds with assistance.
