Student Support and Advising
Provide individualized academic advising for dual credit students on course selection, scheduling, and program requirements. Assist students through the admissions and enrollment process, including applications, account setup, and transcript requests. Offer support and guidance on degree pathways, transfer options, and college success strategies. Troubleshoot student accounts, registration, and technology issues to ensure timely enrollment. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with FERPA and institutional standards Connect students with appropriate SCC services such as tutoring, financial aid, and student success resources. Conduct advising appointments in person, virtually, and via phone or email to ensure accessibility. High School and Community Engagement
Serve as the primary liaison between SCC and assigned high school partners. Visit high schools regularly to provide on-site advising, recruitment, and program support. Collaborate with counselors and teachers to identify eligible students and assist with course placement. Participate in school events, parent nights, and college fairs to promote dual credit opportunities. Deliver informational sessions to students, families, and educators about eligibility, enrollment, and benefits. Program Administration and Coordination
Maintain accurate dual credit student files, including enrollment forms, payment records, and withdrawal documentation. Prepare and distribute student schedules, reports, and enrollment updates to high school counselors. Monitor and track student progress, retention, and completion for service area reporting. Support the Dual Credit Director and Administrative Assistant with process improvements and project coordination. Communication and Collaboration
Respond promptly to inquiries from students, parents, and partner schools regarding dual credit processes. > Collaborate with internal SCC departments including Admissions, Records, and Academic Affairs to ensure smooth operations. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to remain current on policies and best practices. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited university or college with four years of related experience or equivalent. Education and relevant work experience may substitute for each other on a year for year basis to meet minimum requirements. Preferred Qualifications
