The Role Living Room is seeking a skilled and dedicated Audio Visual (AV) Technician to elevate the guest experience across our premium restaurant and event spaces. This role provides essential technical support for our weekly live DJ events, live performances and high-profile gatherings. We are looking for a proactive professional with a strong technical aptitude, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment. Details Operational Excellence
Real-Time Support: Provide immediate technical assistance to equipment users and performers while actively monitoring system performance and environmental conditions.
Event Execution: Execute the setup, strike, and operation of audio and visual equipment for events, staff meetings, and live performances.
Atmospheric Management: Collaborate closely with management to ensure audio-visual settings align with the specific environmental and aesthetic goals of each space.
Maintenance and Inventory Control
Preventative Care: Clean, organize, and inspect all hardware before and after events to ensure peak functionality.
Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate inventory logs and perform regular quality control checks on all equipment assets.
Technical Escalation: Promptly identify and report complex system malfunctions or damaged equipment to management for resolution.
Collaboration and Development
Continuous Learning: Participate in advanced training sessions to master complex system operations and sophisticated troubleshooting methodologies.
Professionalism: Maintain a polished and courteous demeanor when collaborating with internal teams and external vendors/contractors.
Execution: Demonstrate the ability to follow detailed technical specifications and instructions with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience Required:
High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND a Vocational Certificate or Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field.
Preferred:
1–3 years of hands-on experience in technical support, live event production, or a similar environment. Strong technical aptitude is essential.
Technical Competencies Signal Flow:
A robust understanding of audio/video signal flow and basic electronic principles as they relate to live production.
Critical Thinking:
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions.
Autonomy:
A self-starter capable of taking initiative and working effectively with little direct supervision.
Physical and Logistical Requirements Scheduling:
Flexibility to work late-night shifts (2nd and 3rd shift rotations), including weekends and holidays.
Strength:
Ability to lift and maneuver equipment weighing up to 75 lbs (e.g., subwoofers, equipment racks, and stands).
Environment:
Comfortable working in high-decibel environments (nightclubs/lounges) and low-light conditions.
Mobility:
Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, climb ladders/stairs, and work in confined spaces.
