Overview Barnes‑Jewish St. Peters Hospital serves families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The 102‑bed community hospital offers comprehensive inpatient & outpatient services, including the Siteman Cancer Center, Breast Health & Women’s Center, Cardiology Center, Neurosurgery Center, and Outpatient Surgery & Endoscopy Center. It is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with Level II stroke certification. The hospital’s medical office houses specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery, and pulmonology. Outpatient services include physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio‑pulmonary rehabilitation. Decisions are made in the best interest of patients and families.

Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.

Responsibilities

Promotes patient‑ and family-centered care, educates on illness management, post‑treatment home care, medication administration.

Participates in patient safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and professional development.

Develops, implements, documents individual care plans with defined goals, collaborating with interprofessional team and patient/family.

Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs per standards of care.

Ensures communication of care plans across continuum of care.

Position is safety-sensitive; requires constant alertness.
