Flight Line Avionics Technician – F-16 (Level 3) | Secret Clearance Required
The Production Flight Line Avionics Technician – F-16 supports flight line operations and aircraft delivery by performing avionics installation, testing, troubleshooting, and flight readiness activities on production F-16 aircraft. This role is responsible for supporting live aircraft operations, including launch and recovery, system testing, and final operational checks in a fast-paced flight line environment.
Responsibilities
Support flight line operations, including aircraft launch and recovery
Install, route, secure, and terminate electrical wiring, harnesses, and avionics components
Perform continuity checks, system testing, and operational checks to ensure flight readiness
Troubleshoot and repair avionics and electrical discrepancies based on assigned team area
Perform soldering, crimping, pinning, de‑pinning, and connector termination to aerospace standards
Support aircraft delivery and production milestones
Perform general mechanic installs, inspections, and testing as required
Document work in accordance with quality, safety, and configuration control requirements
Maintain strict FOD control and tool accountability standards
Required Qualifications
6+ years of hands‑on avionics experience
in aircraft production, flight line, or operational environments
Strong avionics testing and troubleshooting experience
Ability to read and interpret technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
Experience with electrical harness installation, termination, and system integration
Secret security clearance required (must be in process at time of start)
Ability to work assigned shifts, including 1st or 2nd shift after training
U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
F‑16 experience preferred
Fighter aircraft experience (F‑16, F/A‑18, F‑22, F‑35)
Experience supporting production flight operations and aircraft delivery teams
Shift Schedule
1st Shift:
Monday – Thursday | 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
2nd Shift:
Monday – Thursday | 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
(Shift assigned after training)
Production flight line and hangar settings
Exposure to live aircraft operations and varying weather conditions
Physical requirements include standing, kneeling, climbing, bending, and working around operational aircraft
