Possesses knowledge and ability to provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias interpretation including: measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. Possesses troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identifies probable causes, and seeks solutions to correct the problem. Responsible to maintain inventories, supplies, and hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition and to appropriately report malfunctions promptly. The PCT-Monitor Tech, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy. Education
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required Work Experience
No experience required 1 year of patient care experience Preferred Licenses and Certifications
BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 Days Required Certification from a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program Preferred Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association Preferred Certification as a Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT). Cardiovascular Credentialing International is preferred. Business Unit : Company Name
