What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a temporary
Roving Business Manager
(Assistant Community Manager) to support the day‑to‑day operations of multiple conventional apartment communities for the
Chelsea Region
in
Calexico, CA . The role involves on‑site accounting, leasing responsibilities, and acting as person‑in‑charge when the Community Manager is absent.
This is a full‑time position with full benefits. Pay range: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Manage financial operations of the apartment community, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and rent payment processing.
Support the Community Manager with asset‑management tasks such as budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures.
Oversee leasing from initial inquiries to move‑ins, ensuring a smooth resident experience.
Maintain and update accurate resident files, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Assist with marketing and advertising to fill vacancies.
Engage prospective residents, conduct tours, and process applications to keep occupancy high.
Handle resident relations by addressing concerns and fostering a positive living environment.
Document leased apartments and maintain accurate move‑in/move‑out records.
Enforce community policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with fair housing laws.
Perform general office tasks, including scheduling, answering inquiries, and managing communication.
Assist with organizing resident events and building community relationships.
Assume the role of person‑in‑charge when the Community Manager is absent, ensuring continued smooth operation.
Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are (Requirements)
1–2 years of experience in affordable apartment communities.
1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Experience with affordable properties, HUD, LIHTC, PSH, Section 8, senior, rural development required.
Strong understanding of day‑to‑day operations of a multi‑family community, including leasing, financial reporting, and resident services.
Demonstrated success in maintaining high occupancy rates.
Exceptional customer service skills and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents, vendors, and team members professionally.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; Yardi and/or MRI experience is a plus.
Physically able to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.
