The Cast House Planning Manager oversees the strategic and operational plans for ensuring quality raw material availability and fulfillment to the plant’s production schedules while leading teams to develop goals, allocate resources, manage budgets, analyze data, and ensure projects align with company objectives, often bridging departments and handling complex logistics, requiring strong project management and communication skills to guide initiatives from conception to completion. Required Education/Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum experience of five years in a planning or project management role. Cast house experience a plus. Minimum one-year prior experience in a leadership role. Must have working knowledge of Quality Standards. Must be able to understand financial statements and be cognizant of impact of cost drivers. Must have efficient personal computer skills and be able to work with Word, Excel, and Power Point. Preferred Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related. Desired experience in casting methods, material handling, and standard manufacturing processes. Strong understanding of planning methodologies and tools. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and coordination abilities to work effectively with various departments (operations, logistics, quality assurance, etc. Strong preference for SAP experience, or the ability to learn the SAP program. Knowledge of safety requirements within a manufacturing setting. Must have excellent analytical skills. What you will be doing?

Develop and implement comprehensive planning strategies. Create and manage detailed production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize facility throughput. This involves planning project phases and revising schedules as needed. Oversee the planning and management of raw material procurement (e.g., scrap and ingots), supplies, and finished goods inventory to maintain optimal levels and smooth workflow. Collaborate with the operations, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to manage day-to-day cast house activities, from melting to the final cast product (e.g., billets or ingots). Coordinate with different departments to align plans with overall business goals. Conduct regular planning meetings to review and refine plans Set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), track production metrics, and prepare progress reports for management and stakeholders to identify issues and recommend improvements. Actively identify potential issues within the production process, such as bottlenecks, quality concerns, or equipment failures and implement proactive solutions to minimize downtime and resolve quality issues.
