Responsibilities Electricians must be committed to their own personal safety as well as the safety of others around them. Electricians are required to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems, while working individually or as a part of a team with other maintenance personnel in the following areas: electronic instrumentations/DCS, electrical distribution, pneumatic/hydraulic control systems and control valves
Electrician will be based in the Ashland, KY Service Center and will perform a wide range of tasks to ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained.
Some of the main tasks include:
Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards always.
Conduct installation, maintenance, and modification, machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, including but not limited to, electrical, PLC, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Perform other tasks as needed.
Skills:
Safety conscious, self-motivated, proficient communication skills, exceptional work ethic and strong attention to detail
Highly motivated with a keen interest to further your own ability and studies.
Identifying problems and analyzing orreviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Skilled in theuse of tools, machines and testing instruments used in the repair andoverhaul of steelmaking plant equipment.
Knowledge and understanding of the basic operating principles of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic/vacuum systems and components.
Technical Requirements Qualifications:
Two-year degree in industrial electrical maintenance technology
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and understand electrical/electronic components / inverters
Proven hands‑on AC & DC motors and drives, sensors, and actuators experience
Proven hands‑on experience with Power distribution systems maintenance
Proven hands‑on PLC systems building, programming, and troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of mechanical equipment with the ability to read and understand hydraulic and mechanical drawings as well as P&ID's
Maintenance experience:
3+ years of experience in a steelmaking plant with arc furnace, casting, or rolling maintenance experience
Soft Skills
Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations.
Adaptsapproach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.
Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from relevant sources
