MHS is seeking a

full‑time Cook

to join our Food Services team. This role offers a unique opportunity to prepare nutritious, high‑quality meals while engaging with a diverse community of students and adults. The Cook supports a broad range of responsibilities essential to the efficient operation of the Food Service Department, including meal preparation, service, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Work Schedule This is a year‑round, Monday‑Friday flex shift position. Weekend shifts may be required and overtime may be necessary. Full‑time status consists of 40 scheduled hours per week with a minimum of two days off.

6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Compensation & Benefits This position is part of Bargaining Local Union 464 and offers an hourly rate of $30.77 plus any applicable shift differential. Full‑time employees are eligible for an excellent benefits package, including:

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Prior experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen environment & knowledge of modern methods of food preparation, health codes and sanitation principles.

Culinary/catering/cooking experience required.

Valid NSF Serv Safe Certification or ability to obtain within six months upon hire.

HACCP training.

Physically capable of lifting, moving, and/or carrying up to 50+ pounds on a frequent basis.

Ability to maintain accurate records and follow instructions; understand and carry out oral and written communication.

Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse group of adults and children.

Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students.

Candidates must be willing to actively engage with MHS Students.
