Early-Stage Collections Representative
We are seeking an Early-Stage Customer Representative in the collection department to join our member services team. This role provides an excellent foundation for building a career in financial services, with comprehensive training and clear pathways for professional growth.
In this position, you will contact credit union members whose Consumer Loan or Credit Card accounts are in the early stages of delinquency (within 30 days past due). The focus of this role is member assistance and financial counseling, not aggressive collections tactics. You will work to understand each member's situation and help them identify solutions to bring their accounts current.
Primary Responsibilities
Contact members with recently past-due Consumer Loan and Credit Card accounts to discuss account status and payment options
Provide clear, empathetic financial guidance to help members understand their options and develop plans to resolve delinquency
Document all member interactions and account actions in accordance with credit union policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as internal credit union guidelines
Collaborate with internal departments to address member concerns and resolve issues efficiently
Support early intervention efforts to minimize financial loss and help members maintain financial stability
Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to conduct professional phone conversations and discuss sensitive financial matters with tact and discretion
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts effectively
Basic computer proficiency and comfort learning new systems
Interest in financial services, lending, or member support
Customer service experience is beneficial but not required

Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Pensacola, FL.
Pay and Benefits Pay range: $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
