Job Skills / Requirements Position Summary Alliance is identifying Incident Prevention Officers (IPO) for a job start that is quickly approaching. As a key member of the Corporate Security Team, the IPO is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment across all corporate facilities, focusing mostly on outdoor premises such as perimeters, public spaces, and loading zones. This role is focused on proactive incident prevention, employee safety, risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance with corporate security protocols. We have full time and part time openings at several high‑end, Class A properties in Manhattan and Staten Island.

Key Responsibilities

Proactive Patrols:

Conduct regular patrols of landscaped grounds, public space, loading dock, office building, reception areas, stairwells, and access points to detect and deter unauthorized activity or safety hazards

Incident Prevention:

Identify and mitigate potential risks such as suspicious behavior, safety violations, property damage, or environmental hazards

Emergency Response:

Serve as an immediate responder to fire alarms, medical situations, weather‑related disruptions, or other critical events. Coordinate with first responders as needed

Security Reporting:

Document all observations, patrol findings, and incidents using digital reporting tools in a clear, timely, and accurate manner

Collaboration & Communication:

Maintain strong communication with building management, facilities, and external contractors to ensure alignment on safety expectations

Policy Enforcement:

Ensure employees and contractors follow safety protocols (e.g., smoking areas, ID badge usage, secure document disposal)

Workplace Awareness:

Promote a culture of vigilance through positive engagement with staff, visible security presence, and involvement in safety campaigns or drills

Surveillance Operations:

Monitor CCTV, access control dashboards, and alarm systems to detect irregularities; respond promptly to alerts or breaches

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field is a plus)

2+ years in corporate security, loss prevention, or a similar safety-focused role

Physically able to conduct indoor/outdoor patrols in all weather conditions, and respond quickly to incidents

Experience with electronic security systems (CCTV, badge readers, visitor management platforms)

Excellent observation, communication, and interpersonal skills

Capable of handling sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism

Valid security guard license

CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)

Working Environment

Office campus environment with responsibilities predominately focused on exterior patrol plus indoor tours

Shift-based schedule, including potential night, weekend, and holiday coverage

Periods of walking, standing, and occasional emergency physical activity

Preferred Attributes

Knowledge of corporate emergency preparedness procedures

Familiarity with visitor and contractor compliance systems

Training in conflict resolution, de-escalation, or behavioral threat assessment

Education Requirements (All) High School Diploma or GED

Certification Requirements (All) NYS Security Guard License
