Job Overview WACKER is a global, research‑intensive chemical company that has been developing sustainable solutions for over 100 years.

The Field Operator is responsible for safely monitoring plant operations in the field and performing all manual tasks including packaging, sampling, and minor maintenance.

The role supports good manufacturing practice (GMP) and ensures a food‑grade production environment.

Job Responsibilities

Exhibit safe work practices while monitoring plant equipment, carrying out in‑process sampling, and reporting unusual events or equipment noise to the Shift Supervisor; maintain housekeeping in production areas.

Package finished goods using the assigned packaging equipment.

Perform manual operations in the production process such as enzyme dosage, and the supply and removal of drums at solvent distillation.

Sample process fluids and solvents for in‑process control.

Conduct minor maintenance of plant equipment, including lubrication, greasing, and minor mechanical and electrical repairs.

Receive deliverables such as starch, solvents, and caustic by truck; monitor the exterior of the plant and report findings to the Shift Supervisor.

Respond to emergencies and maintain all online and in‑plant training requirements.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; preferred education or certifications in mechanics, electronics, or chemical studies.

Minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Good communication and verbal interpersonal skills.

Ability to troubleshoot systems and processes.

Commit to plant safety as a priority.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Exposure to chemicals and other hazards; training and personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Must be able to lift 55 lbs. related to finished packaging.

This position is a swing shift alternating day and night shifts every two weeks.
