Job Description The responsibilities of a Body Shop Technician include repairing the vehicle body, from hammering out minor dents to windshield replacement and complete rebuilds. When not repairing collision damage, technicians work on body customization or minor repairs, such as buffing out scratches or refurbishing corrosion damage.

Body Shop Technician Responsibilities
Determine and repair damaged parts
Communicate status of repairs clearly to body shop manager
Communicate with parts department to obtain necessary parts
Document all repairs performed
Document all materials used
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
Follow all company safety procedures
Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous waste
Body Shop Technician Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Past dealership experience required
Completion of vocational program preferred, but not required
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
