Overview
Installs, maintains and repairs machinery and ancillary equipment including piping, electrical, communication and HVAC mechanical systems for use by the company’s facilities. Responsibilities
Visually inspects and tests machinery using electrical and electronic test equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation issues with Supervisor or operators to diagnose problem. Dismantles defective machinery and installs new or repaired parts following specifications, blueprints or schematics and by using precision measuring instruments and hand tools. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun per preventative maintenance schedule or as needed. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery. Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems for related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repairs and maintains physical structure and equipment for building. Maintains logs on all production equipment in accordance with OSHA/ISO procedures. Communicates with co-workers and Supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate job activities in department. Follows all safety procedures and wears safety equipment or apparel as required. Performs all job functions to meet acceptable quality and performance standards. Ensures on a daily basis that maintenance work area and machinery repair area is clean and orderly including machinery and hand tools. May be required to follow other job-related instructions and duties as requested, subject to applicable state and federal laws. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years of related education or work experience with the repair and maintenance of machinery Ability to read and follow specifications, blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) Organizational skills Physical Requirements
Exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and 25 pounds of force frequently Ability to stand for extended periods of time and move about the facility Ability to use hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments Ability to communicate with others; accommodation as required to listen to machinery Accommodation as required for reading documents, meters, gages and like equipment. The Company provides specialized tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments required to perform the job. Employees will be required to provide and maintain basic personal hand tools necessary to perform assigned duties. Working Conditions
Typical metal manufacturing environment with exposure to powder coat paint facility. Active work that primarily involves walking, standing, bending and lifting. Benefits Programs
