The pay for this position is starting at $25/hr., plus a $1.50 shift differential depending on your role, level and location. GENERAL PURPOSE: Perform general mechanical maintenance of facility and equipment in a timely and courteous manner.
Essential Job Functions
The maintenance technician is responsible for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair support of production equipment:
8 color printing presses
Die cutter and punches
Laminations
DOD printers and conveyors
Gluing systems
Wrapping systems
Provide building systems support of:
100 hp compressors
Lighting
Plumbing
Completes daily reports via email and CMMS.
Maintains accurate maintenance records.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D).
Experience with the following preferred: Heidelberg, Bobst, Profold, Atlantic Zeiser, Zebra or Precision Finishing equipment.
Familiarity with conveyor-based systems preferred: Vision systems, barcode printing, tracking software, CMMS software.
Must be able to write simple correspondences.
Must have effective interpersonal communication skills.
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be able to perform intermediate arithmetic dealing with decimals fractions, ratios, etc.
Must have some basic computer experience.
Must have acute troubleshooting skills.
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Must be committed to maintaining a safe work environment, identifying hazards, familiarize with safety rules, and/or have the ability to work safely with specific tools or materials.
Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Safe Work Requirements
PPE: Safety Glasses, Ear Plugs or Earmuffs, Safety Shoes, Gloves when required, Hard Hats, and any other PPE Required based on the job or task.
Compliance with Smurfit Westrock’s employment policies, handbook, and workplace safety policies, rules, and procedures.
Submission of Safety Concerns and Safety Work Order / Incident Reporting and Learning / Basic understanding of the Safety Excellence System.
Follow the site management (General Manager, Plant Manager, Department Manager, Shift Supervisor) assignments for completing tasks and managing programs as part of the Safety Excellence System.
Must follow Training Matrix assigned in the Learning and Development System. Training could be assigned Annually, Quarterly or at the time of a new process / procedure.
Must have a clear understanding of the STOP Work Process – Employees have the right to STOP the work at any time to gain a better understanding of the process or to ensure safety standards are met.
