AMETEK, Inc.
The Senior Accountant candidate will report to the USSr.ManagerFinanceand and will be directly responsible for supporting the daily accounting functions of the business. This includes responsibility for financial closing, financial reporting, working capital review, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls. This individual must operate with a high degree of autonomy and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Support monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate financial results and requirements are completed within corporate timelines
Evaluate accounting policies and procedural control systems and work to improve effectiveness and compliance
Prepare month-end General Ledger journal entries and reconciliations
Analyze and report variances to budget to support the closing process and operations decision-making
Own accounting and forecasting of Fixed Assets
Drive Bookings and Revenue reporting to track performance against expectations
Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts and the annual budget with a focus on manufacturing expenses and working capital
Support both internal and external audit requests (including SOX audits), preparation of state and federal tax packages
Support Operations Controller and Business Unit Controller with any other duties/projects as assigned, such as the implementation of process improvements through simplification and automation to add controls and improve the visibility of performance
Develop business relationships with cross-functional teams
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA Preferred
2+ years of related accounting experience (Manufacturing Experience or Public Accounting Preferred)
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is a plus
Must be able to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously
Proactive and creative, with an action and problem-solving bias with the drive to deliver results
Work requires effective oral and written communication skills as well as a strong analytical acumen
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
Compensation Employee Type: Salaried
Salary Minimum: $70,000
Salary Maximum: $90,000
Incentive: No
