SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) – Office of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, 130 SC‑252, Anderson, SC 29621. Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical switching devices, distribution systems, lighting fixtures, electrical motors and motor controls, fire alarms, door security systems and other electrical circuits and systems as required; install electrical conduits and raceways as necessary. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all HVAC equipment including fans, centralized chillers, air handlers, cooling towers, plumbing fixtures and pumps; perform testing for facility outdoor swimming pool and related equipment as scheduled. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all types of plumbing systems and devices such as drains, water lines, valves, plumbing fixtures and pumps. Operate computers utilizing various software programs such as physical plant maintenance management programs involving work orders and material accountability, building support systems, and other systems as necessary. Participate in on‑call rotation and transport new hires to Columbia, SC as needed. Install, repair, and/or build bookshelves, cabinets, drywall, masonry, roofing, floor coverings, concrete and concrete forms; install, maintain and repair doors and door hardware. Maintain clinical competence by mastering required mandatory and non‑mandatory in‑service or training, such as MAPS, CPR, and SCIES modules. Qualifications

High school diploma and experience in a related trade area, such as plumbing, HVAC, or electrical. Additional Requirements

Stooping, walking, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds, pulling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and platforms at various heights and levels daily; moving, loading, and carrying all necessary equipment. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Post‑Hire Requirements

Be able to understand blueprints, plan and specifications; follow oral and written instructions and perform heavy manual labor. Equal Opportunity
