Position Overview The
Youth Development Assistant
plays a vital role in supporting daily programming at the Boys & Girls Club. YDAs help create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment where youth can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about working with kids and making a positive impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and engage youth in daily activities such as homework help, games, arts, and sports
Implement program plans and assist with enrichment activities
Promote positive behavior and help manage conflict using trauma-informed approaches
Build meaningful relationships with youth, families, and fellow staff
Maintain a safe and inclusive Club environment
Support with set-up, clean-up, and overall organization of program spaces
Follow all safety, attendance, and incident reporting procedures
Qualifications
Experience working with youth in a school, camp, or community setting is a plus
Friendly, dependable, and team-oriented
Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or currently enrolled in high school or college
Must pass a background check and complete required trainings
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
