PURPOSE: The Program Manager is responsible for contract performance and management of all business aspects of customer assigned contracts applying a cradle to grave concept. Serves as a “Business Manager” for assigned contracts and is responsible for complete implementation, process completion, and final shipment(s) to customer.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the internal process of the assigned program(s) and drive an On-Time-Delivery (OTD) the meets / exceeds customer expectations

Leads and coordinates product development from contract receipt through each contract phase through full cycle production

Margin management of the program(s)

Manages cost and budget, schedule and performance of program

Identify opportunities to improve margin performance

Material options and procurement

Develops and maintains project documentation using existing company PM policies and company procedures, ensures accurate data for costs, scrap, quality, inventory positions, MRP data feeds

Serves as customer point of contact, manages customer expectations

Communicates with customers to address manufacturing issues and implement solutions includes internal team and suppliers and

Supports customer complaints & concerns in a prompt and thorough manner using the functional teams for support

Owns and guides contractual commitments including the cost, schedule, technical, and quality performance of assigned projects and programs and flows to the team

Establishes program launch plan, as well as tactical direction for program execution by project team based on customer dates and planned milestones

Tracks program performance to integrated master schedule, identify program issues and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or alternate paths

Organize and leading Program meetings

Ensures product process design and technical documentation changes related to manufacturing are reviewed, approved and implemented by team per schedule

Leads team made from other departments to ensure launching of product from design to production meeting contract requirements and milestone gates

Leads team through work cell design as needed

Supports and Adheres to company processes to maintain compliance to QMS and industry standards (AS9100)

Leads team to ensure supply chain plan meets customer requirements and supports documentation needed via program team

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree and/or minimum 5 years of recent prior experience in a similar role

Strong leadership and management abilities to lead, organize, and motivate employees in a production environment

Technical breadth across engineering disciplines, especially in aerospace/defense-related disciplines, is desirable

Ability to plan and organize production schedules, allocate resources effectively, and make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification, and procurement

Knowledge of quality control processes, industry standards, and regulations related to defense projects.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle production challenges and customer interactions effectively

Proficiency in using project management tools and software

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

PMP Certification preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud when on the shop floor. This position also has a role in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. When in the office environment the employee is in a sedentary role, however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
