Representative Duties

Primary expertise teaching in two or more of the following subject areas: General Business (Intro to Business, Business Math, Business Communications), Management, Marketing, Business Statistics.

Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative teaching methodologies in the above-mentioned fields and phases of curriculum.

Demonstrated ability to adapt instructional techniques to accommodate varied learning styles and a variety of teaching modalities, including distance learning.

Demonstrated knowledge of methods of instruction, testing, and evaluation of students.

Commitment to working with administrators, faculty, and staff to increase support and success for students.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to the total operation of the instruction program, including Department, Division, and College responsibilities.

Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, staff, peers, and administrators clearly, effectively, and professionally in both oral and written form.

Availability to teach morning, afternoon, evening, distance learning, and/or off-campus classes as part of the regular teaching assignment.

Professionally represent Chabot College and the Business Department when attending community and business meetings, events, and activities.

Evidence of a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical and learning disabilities.

Minimum Education and Experience

Master’s in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing or business education; or

Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)

Bachelor’s in economics with a business emphasis AND Master’s in personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)

The equivalent of the above

Applicants must upload all applicable transcripts, credentials, and/or certificates. Degrees earned outside the United States must be accompanied by an official US Evaluation done by a member of the NACES (https://www.naces.org/members). Degrees in progress that will be conferred on or before July 1, 2026 must be supported with a recent transcript and proof of current enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications Evidence of a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical and learning disabilities.

Desirable Qualifications

Recent teaching experience at the college level in general business or related field.

Teaching experience with learners from diverse socio-cultural-economic populations.

Three or more years of business experience in a leadership role.

Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including spreadsheets and word processing.

Job Work Schedule This position is full-time, tenure track, beginning Fall 2026. Employment will begin on or about August 20, 2026.
