Study Smart Tutors
Study Smart Tutors is a college and career access organization that collaborates with partners to promote educational equity, access, and success by providing a diverse range of tools for students, families, and educators. Our mission is grounded in closing opportunity gaps and empowering communities through high-quality, culturally responsive academic support.
We offer an array of college access courses at no cost to our students or their families. We are able to accomplish this by partnering with schools, outreach programs, and other college and career access organizations to provide efficient and effective college and career access programming and classroom-based test preparation.
The Lead Tutor is a part-time, on-site position reporting to the Academic Service Manager. This role supports tutors and partners before, during, and after sessions while helping to maintain and enhance the organization’s tutoring programs.
The Lead Tutor sets a strong example of excellence, ensures tutors meet program and company expectations, and upholds key initiatives through clear communication and leadership. Acting as the primary liaison bet ween tutors and the Academic Service Manager, the Lead Tutor must build strong, supportive relationships with their team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to their own tutoring assignments, the Lead Tutor role includes helping tutors integrate technology into lessons and assisting with tasks aligned with company and partner directives as assigned. Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students. Tutors will have access to information about class assignments Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart Tutors staff Partner with Study Smart Tutor’s Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to all students Complete post job surveys and attendance trackers after each tutoring session. Lead Support:
Visit DMV/Maryland program sites to ensure all stakeholders receive adequate support. Support the Education Team in communicating with tutors throughout the contract period. Observe tutoring sessions and provide tutors with evaluation and constructive feedback. Collect and manage feedback from school administration, site coordinators, classroom teachers, and other program staff. Provide updates regarding the program’s academic success and progress from client, tutor, and student perspectives. WHAT YOU’LL GAIN PARTNERING WITH STUDY SMART TUTORS:

Must be a legacy employee (with at least 6 months at Study Smart Tutors or experience on multiple assignments) and in good standing with the organization. Bachelor's Degree in education or related field 2+ years of teaching, tutoring, or after-school experience, preferably with Title 1 schools. Ability to visit schools throughout the DMV/Maryland area weekly. Experience with Math/ELA intervention frameworks and practices. Ability to effectively collaborate with team members. Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Mastery of Microsoft Office and G-Suite Apps. Strong written and oral communication skills. Suitable work environment (Wi-Fi, desk, etc.).
