Job Description What You’ll Do:
This position works under direction and requires considerable knowledge of inventory control and agency storeroom or warehouse procedures in order to supervise storeroom and/or warehouse.
Supervises storeroom and/or warehouse employees and inmates
Receives, inspects, stores, and distributes stock, supplies and/or equipment
Develops, implements and enforces storeroom or warehouse procedures
Recognizes unusual or threatening conditions (e.g., chemical storage)
Assigns and reviews, schedules deliveries and oversees preparation and maintenance of shipping
Maintains accurate receiving and inventory records
Reviews, approves and/or disapproves request for leave and overtime
Oversees inventory of and approves orders for supplies and/or equipment
Ensures clean, proper and safe storage of materials
Trains employee and inmate workers in storeroom or warehouse operations
Evaluates condition of equipment in order to determine whether to reuse or salvage
Monitors warehouse temperature and humidity and refrigerator temperature to ensure proper storage materials
Verifies changes in orders and/or validates inventory discrepancies
Prepares and completes performance evaluations
Sits on institution committees
Responds to inmate grievances

Qualifications 9 mos. training or 9 mos. experience in inventory control; 9 mos. training or 9 mos. experience in OSHA &/or other safety standards & practices applicable to storeroom or warehouse operations; 3 mos. training or 3 mos. experience in agency purchasing & requisition procedures; 3 mos. training or 3 mos. experience in employee training & development. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have a commercial driver’s license.
-Or 6 mos. experience as Storekeeper 2, 14742. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have a commercial driver’s license.
