Recreation Supervisor
Recreation Supervisors are the backbone of The Forge Lemont Quarries and play a vital role in supporting the Recreation Leadership Team while ensuring the smooth operation of The Forge Lemont Quarries. They are held to the same expectations whether serving as the designated MOD/LOD or working a guide/host shift, and they are expected to address and communicate with Recreation Leadership promptly concerning any issues.
They assist in carrying out daily operational plans, help coordinate recreational programs and activities, and provide consistent guidance to staff to ensure a safe, positive, and high-quality experience for all guests. Throughout their work, Recreation Supervisors are expected to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor and to model The Forge Lemont Quarries’ standards in both their actions and presentation, reinforcing the values and direction set by the Recreation Managers.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Exhilarate Programming Opening / Closing Procedures
Keyholder - Opening / Closing park and attraction gates and containers
Operates company vehicle during work hours
Acts as an LOD during park operating hours
Acts as additional ground support and responder in rescue and emergency scenarios
As needed will assist with the maintenance of Exhilarate Activities or the Ropes Course
Monitors guide rotations and helps track that staff are taking necessary breaks
Acts as a “floater” and fills in wherever needed depending on staffing
Assists in identifying staffing needs (breaks, calling off staff, cutting staff, calling staff in, etc) as it relates to inventory, budget, guest satisfaction, safety, and company goals
Communicates with Forge leadership regarding any pending concerns, habits, or general occurrences that don’t necessarily align with company goals, standards, and/or expectations. (Both financially and culturally)
Informs management of any incidents; if necessary, report said incident via an incident report within 24 hours of its occurrence
Has basic knowledge of all Exhilarate Activities, and will be able to facilitate them as needed
May be scheduled for other shifts as needed
Eligible to work barback shifts at park events
Enforce alcohol sale and distribution in accordance to The Forge policies and local/ state laws
Completes sweeps of the park in accordance with The Forge policies and practices; this is the time to check on the team and equipment to make sure everything is functioning properly.
May be asked to fill in at off site properties as needed

Demonstrates impeccable stewardship of park equipment, vehicles, and facilities

Ensures all employees adhere to conduct, guidelines, and employee expectations set by The Forge
In a timely manner, addresses performance or behavior that falls below acceptable standards or fails to serve the success of the individual, team, or company
Documents and notifies Recreation Manager(s) of any and all employee disciplinary action within 24 hours of addressing any issue
Encourages constructive discussions, and does so with other members of
Forge Leadership
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age
Meets participant requirements of the Climb & Zipline Adventure Ropes Course
Must have a basic standard of physical fitness, endurance, communication skills and manual dexterity. Position requires the ability to climb, lift and pull a minimum of 50 pounds, as well as sit in a harness and stand for extended periods
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions including sun, rain, wind, and extreme heat/cold for extended periods.
Has exceptional decision-making, risk management, and customer service skills, an astute attention to detail and the ability to work calmly under pressure at height, and on the ground.
Possesses a team oriented attitude, punctuality, professionalism, and desire to help others (guest and peer alike)
Ability to easily adapt to changing needs and requirements
A high level of self-awareness and receptivity to coaching and feedback
Role model and set example for expected performance and behaviors
Treats employees and peers in a fair and consistent manner
Has demonstrated good decision making and problem solving skills
Takes direction and responsibility for task initiation and completion
Must have knowledge of park EOPs and LOPs
Must have or be able to attain IL BASSET prior to start of the season
Must have completed or be able to complete guide training delivered by The Forge prior to the start of the season
Must have or be able to attain First Aid / CPR certification prior to start of the season
SCHEDULING AND STAFFING
Supervisors must be able to commit 30 - 35 hours (minimum) between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Must be able to work weekends in the Fall
Ideal candidates will be available through October
Candidates are eligible for consideration of year round part time employment
